I’m delighted to work at School in the Woods Montessori, having joined the community after making a midlife career shift. Drawn in by Montessori’s deep respect for the inner world of the child, I am currently completing my Infant and Toddler Montessori certification at MECR and look forward to bringing my background in the arts, psychotherapy, and understanding of the nervous system into the classroom.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in theatre and acting from Sonoma State University (SSU), a master’s in counseling psychology and drama therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), and I am a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute (SETI). I previously worked as a licensed marriage and family therapist and trauma specialist with adolescents, couples, and families in schools, residential treatment, and private practice.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, my husband Scott and I relocated to Colorado just before the pandemic with our teenage son, Colin, and our rescue dog, Nova. In my free time, I return to my roots as a classically trained actor, having recently performed in professional theatre as Maria in Twelfth Night with Shakespeare in the Wild and as Mrs. Dashwood (plus five other roles) in Sense and Sensibility at Theatreworks.
