I moved to Denver in 2010 after having lived my entire life New England. Shortly after my arrival, I observed a Montessori classroom in action, and I knew immediately it was the educational philosophy that aligned with my own. I love watching children make discoveries that grow and change from year to year. I love that each child is welcomed to move at their own pace and encouraged to be curious. I love that they have the opportunity to gain independence, confidence, respect for their community, and a love for learning. I have been working in Montessori classrooms in the Denver area since 2012 and received my Montessori ECE teaching credential from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in 2013.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and psychology from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. In college, I studied abroad on Semester at Sea, circumnavigating the globe on a ship and visiting 10 countries in three months, an experience that forever changed my life. I also spent a semester in England completing my student teaching in a second and third grade classroom. My career also included a stint with The Chill Foundation, a national, nonprofit that uses snowboarding to teach responsibility, integrity, and perseverance to under-served and at-risk youth across North America.Â

Outside of the classroom, I’m usually with my husband, our 6-year-old son, and our friends. We can be found snowboarding, hiking, fishing, or camping anywhere in the mountains. I’m also learning to mountain bike per my son’s request. And, I enjoy diving into different creative outlets and making my own materials for the classroom.
