My Montessori journey began at the age of three when I had the good fortune of attending a Montessori school in Davis, Calif. I still recall the feeling of calm and curiosity I would get while exploring my classroom and being enticed by different opportunities to engage. When I became a mother, I wanted to give my children the gift of a Montessori education just as my mother had done for me. It was also around this time that Denver Public Schools opened a Montessori program at Lincoln Elementary School, so I enrolled my children. While they were in school, I decided to finish up my degree in early childhood education. As a student teacher in a traditional first grade classroom during my final semester, I did some soul searching and realized that my educational journey was not complete. I had chosen a Montessori education for my children because I believed in the freedom of learning in a multiage classroom and an environment where everyone could feel successful, no matter their pace. It was then that I decided to pursue my Montessori Primary training from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in Boulder. I fell in love with the intentional design of each lesson, the beauty and simplicity of the classroom, and the ability to follow each individual child’s interests. I feel honored to be a part of the joy of discovery each child experiences when fully absorbed in a lesson. I have been a Montessori guide for many years now, and I cherish the opportunity to get to know my students and their families over their multi-year Montessori journey.

In my free time, I can be found spending time with my family, playing homesteader at my off-grid property, and snuggling my two very loved dogs.
