When my daughter was two years old, I enrolled her in a Montessori preschool. I devoured Maria Montessori's books with excitement, and I was hooked. The experience led me to further my education, attending El Centro College in Dallas, where I received my AMS certification. While in school, I worked as an assistant teacher in my daughter’s Primary classroom.
I hold a bachelor's degree in fine art from East Texas A&M in Commerce. Being an artist allows me to incorporate art into many areas of my life, and teaching is no exception! I love inspiring children to be creative, think outside of the box, and reach their potential. Seeing the look of awe in children's eyes when they have a breakthrough is such a gift. I get to witness this every day.
Originally from Texas, I grew up skiing in Colorado during every winter. I think I always knew I needed the mountains in my life. When I’m not teaching in a Montessori classroom, I can be found teaching yoga, barre, and spin classes. I love to move and workout, read, and walk my dogs. I am a weaver, pastel painter, and journaling for therapy advocate.
